Matthew has been performing as a singer throughout the Orange County and Los Angeles areas since a young age. Growing up, Matt watched his dad perform as a professional musician and singer in local clubs, and always aspired to be a singer and songwriter. He has been seen on stage at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, The Fringe Festival in Edinburough, Scotland, has fronted several Orange County/Los Angeles-based bands, and has written and recorded multiple albums.

Matt began drinking at the age of 18, and the progression of the disease of alcoholism progressed very quickly. Within the next five years he had gone through rehabs and hospitalizations due to his substance abuse. Through the twelve steps, and the ever present gift of music, Matt was able to find freedom of body, mind, and spirit. He is grateful to have the opportunity to share both music and recovery with others struggling with alcoholism and addiction through Rock to Recovery.
