Rock to Recovery:<br /> Music as a Catalyst for Human Transformation
Tens of thousands of Americans die from substance abuse and suicide each year. Millions more suffer from mental health disorders. This book shares eighteen stories of people who have transformed their lives, and in each, music was a key component. From veterans to the sex trafficked to rock stars, you’ll discover a variety of experiences in this book, each finding healing through music.

Inspiration for the Book
Music Is The Medicine
Rock to Recovery® is an innovative, therapeutic music program serving more than one hundred addiction treatment and mental health facilities in the USA. By writing, playing, and recording music as a group, non-musicians are able to build a community of support, find enthusiasm for treatment, and realize that recovery is possible.
Veterans, trauma survivors, youth and those struggling with substance abuse or mental health issues can recover with connection. You too can use music to heal.
About The Authors
Wes Geer
Wes has been a professional musician for over 25 years. He first gained success as a founding member of Hed P.E. and later as touring guitarist with the legendary band Korn. When the Korn gig was coming to an end, Wes was moved to find a way to proliferate the use of playing music as a treatment modality. He founded Rock to Recovery®, an innovative music program that harnesses the healing energy of music through songwriting, playing as a band, and recording.
