Today in Pennsylvania, Dr. Amie Harwick will be laid to rest. Tragedies like this are incomprehensible. We can’t believe this happened, that she’s really has left this physical realm. We can only attempt to imagine what her family and friends gathered in her honor are feeling today processing all that is taking place. Please take a moment and join us in a prayer for Amie, her family, her friends that they may find strength in God and each other in all they must endure moving forward.
For all those suffering from domestic violence, seen and unseen, that Amie’s death may act as an impetuous to create great change and help to stop the abuse and loss of life of these victims. Together we can make a change! Amie would want it that way. You are forever in our hearts, Amie.
LA Weekly recently wrote an article about Amie and how those who have experienced domestic violence are pushing for change in a system that failed them. Read the entire article here.
Rock to Recovery® in action in Hawaii! Our own Clinton Calton and Wes Geer performed four song writing sessions Sunday with the Air Force Wounded Warrior program, working with approximately 100 service men and women. In each session drilling down into the emotional challenges of the warriors, creating lyrics true to reality and a chorus ‘hook’ based in hope and transformation. Our music program continues evenings this week as the warriors working nightly, writing a song to perform at the closing ceremonies of the Warrior Care event at Hickham AFB this week.
Rock to Recovery® is proud to partner with Navy Wounded Warriors in 2020. We spent the weekend at Port Hueneme working with our nations sailors dealing with mental illness such as TBI, PTSD and anxiety. We are lucky to give back to these American Heroes!
Our rad friend Nadia Prescher, from Madison House, shared about the importance of the work Rock to Recovery® is doing. Thank you Nadia! Below is a screen shot from the article and you can view the entire article here!
